[Intern] Electrical Engineer/System Engineer

KapiteinLabs utilizes plasma technology to develop practical, low-emission solutions for air, water, and CO₂. As a Product Development Intern, you’ll support the team by helping test prototypes, collecting data, and contributing to ongoing projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience and learn how product development happens in a start-up.
What You’ll Do
You will support our multidisciplinary team in:
- Designing and implementing the interface that transforms an advanced electrical-plasma system into a finished, user-oriented product.
- Testing and validating electrical systems and components according to applicable standards (NEN, IEC, ISO).
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical and electrical issues.
- Ensuring safety compliance (ATEX, CE, and related product safety requirements).
- Preparing documentation, reporting results, and maintaining technical records.
- Collaborating with internal and external partners to bring innovative ideas into practical reality.
What Success Looks Like
You contribute to the creation of a new generation of plasma reactors, powered by a sophisticated electrical system.
You’ll help develop this technology from prototype to commercial product, taking ownership of:
- Electrical and system components integration.
- Compliance with safety and certification standards.
- Commissioning and testing of the final product.
What You Bring - A university bachelor’s degree (or equivalent level) in electrical engineering or systems engineering.
- Experience in industrial automation, embedded systems, or power electronics is highly valued.
- Familiarity with high-voltage systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NEN 1010, NEN 3140, EMC, CE).
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics using tools like EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Independent, precise, and safety-conscious working style.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
